Baby on the Way!!!! Yea!!!

So it has been quite a while since I blogged. I have been very busy with work, family, etc. just like everyone else but I also started doing Facebook and did not have time to do both. Well since my last blog I have find out that I am pregnant and we are expecting the new bundle of joy in March. We are very excited and my daughter Makena could not be happier. She is ecstatic about being a big sister. She tells us all the time what she is going to help with and how she will always be sweet and lovey to her baby brother or sister. We will find out what we are having October 28th and she is going with us to find out. I could have found out on Tuesday but I really want to share this experience with her. What are your opinions on having her present when the baby is born? I go back forth and whether she should be in the room or the waiting room. I don't want her to get scared but I also do not want her to feel left out.

I have missed my blogger friends but have found that Facebook fits my lifestyle for now. I have tried to keep up with everyone's blogs during my lunch. Well enough for now...will post more later!!!

One of the Best Things about Living in Texas...

One of the best things about Texas is the beautiful wildflowers that grow during the Spring time. It always makes me so happy to see them and ever since Kena was born we have taken her to see them every year. She loves them and counts the days until they arrive. In March, she and I took a trip to see the bluebonnets and do some antique shopping with the family in Warrenton. The flowers were gorgeous when we went up but have since gotten even more abundant and beautiful. Here are some pictures from our trip...she is growing up so fast. She can be a little diva and loves to take pictures now!

Snow????

Well it has been a while since I have posted...just alot going on with Christmas, Makena and family. But with everything going on we got very lucky and got some snow which was a huge surprise. Makena was fascinated and had a ball playing in the snow. She had dance class that night and so I let her play in the snow before we went but it was not really sticking yet. When we got done there was enough snow to step in and leave footprints, to throw, to make "small" snowmen...she had a blast when we got home. Here are some pictures. We do not get snow very often at all so please for give us for being so excited at such a small amount....;-)

Craft Project with Makena

Well over the years I have become a bit more crafty and have taken on some small and large projects. Since it is hunting season Makena gets a lot of mommytime. I decided to start working on my presents for the teachers and some of my co-workers. Makena is really into helping when it comes to cooking and so last night I thought I would introduce her to making crafts. We talked about the process beforehand and I told her there were only certain things like tying the ribbon and gluing the letters she was so excited. So here is the end result of our handy work...it is a huge clothes pin that you can stand up and it is actually functional because you put pictures in it or notes, etc.
A friend of mine is a huge LSU fan so I made her's in yellow and purple, this was our trial one and I knew my friend would be honest and tell me if it was cheesy.
